What we have been up to...

2021:
We are pleased to announce the generous contributions of exquisite pieces of artwork, graciously donated by the The founder. The sales will provide financial assistance for the operational expenses of the New Gallery on Essex Street, WC2 in the Strand, as well as contribute towards acquiring materials for our current project, The Era of Reclamation/ AIR (Artist In Residence) PROJECT. The initiative is the brainchild of Bonnie Greer OBE, a celebrated playwright and novelist with a career spanning more than five decades. Bonnie is spearheading this initiative alongside Hartwig Fischer, the Director of The British Museum. We have been fortunate to secure a location on The Strand in Central London for a period of 6 months. This space will serve as a hub for more than 25 young creatives who will participate in The AIR (Artist in Residence) Project 2020/2021. This initiative aims to engage these individuals in artistic endeavours during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

2022:
The Art-Alive Youth Project expanded their programmes in collaboration with The Crown Estate, which resulted in an exceptional occurrence when they conducted a Wellbeing session for the workforce. It pertained to the diligent employees that work tirelessly for 5 to 6 days every week. The programme provided an opportunity for participants to engage in self-reflection, collaborate with colleagues, and temporarily detach themselves from their daily responsibilities. They were able to engage in the creative process of painting or creating inside their work environment, offering a departure from their usual routine. The completed art was visually stunning, and we at Art-Alive anticipate making this a recurring monthly initiative. Art-Alive thoroughly enjoyed and successfully honoured American Black History Month and their recent residency. In addition, we expanded the exhibition to commemorate the emerging female artists of Art-Alive, who got the opportunity to showcase their artwork for the first time in such a renowned venue. The female artists arrived accompanied by their moms to commemorate Women's Day... Undoubtedly, it was a resounding success.

2023:
i. An online auction will take place on Sunday, April 2nd, including the debut sale of artworks by the esteemed London artist, our Founder , Lanré Olagoke. The event is anticipated to draw art collectors and lovers from across the globe who have impatiently awaited the opportunity to buy some of Olagoke's artworks. The Art-Alive Arts Trust Charity will get all the money earned from selling the artworks. This charity focuses on assisting children, adolescents, and young vulnerable people by providing them with opportunities and platforms to explore their potential and integrate into society via arts and creativity. The winning bidders will not only have the chance to acquire a one-of-a-kind artwork by Olagoke, but they will also be making a valuable contribution to a charitable cause. The online auction for Lanré Olagoke's artworks is slated to occur on April 2nd, 2023, at 6:30pm BST (GMT+1). Ultimately, I am attaching a comprehensive catalogue showcasing all the art pieces. Remain attentive and we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to accommodate you!
ii. We created “Man To Man” a hard-hitting, multi-award winning, emotional rollercoaster starring SAG/Independent Spirit Award-nominated David Harewood. This BIFA & BAFTA-qualifying drama examines a Father-Son relationship as Malcolm brings his son Dion to a boxing ring to ‘make a man’ out of him. We at the Art Alive Trust are extremely proud to have these young talented men in our institution.

2024:
"There would be no MBE for me if there were no young people," said London artist Lanré Olagoke. "It started with me being homeless on the street addicted to drugs” The self-taught painter, our Founder, was recognised in the King's New Year's Honours list for his work helping young people access the arts. According to Mr. Olagoke, one of the innovative initiatives carried out by the trust is called "At the Gates". This programme involves actively involving convicts inside the prison system and continuing to support them after their release, with the aim of providing them with a sense of familiarity and support. In addition to painting, the charity provides classes in textile, fashion, cinematography, and photography from its studio located on Regents Street. Mr. Olagoke's objective is to provide young individuals with the necessary skills to follow their artistic interests or achieve success in the workforce via engaging in "purposeful activities". In response to receiving his MBE, the painter expressed that he felt an overwhelming sense of joy and elation. He remarked that the honour instills hope in young individuals. Mr. Olagoke expressed his aspirations to construct an arts institution that will cultivate exceptional talent across many creative sectors. "Our primary objective is to instill a sense of hope among young individuals," he said. We as a whole at The Art Alive Trust, stand as a whole as we congratulate our exceptionally amazing founder.

AS ALWAYS…
We appreciate your help in facilitating our ability to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged youth. Art Alive Arts Trust is associated with multiple organisations in Westminster, together shouldering the responsibility to enhance the well-being of marginalised young people and ensure the success of this initiative. In addition, a portion of the profits will be allocated to supporting our Mental Health care team and providing training in essential life and creative skills. This initiative aims to facilitate the reintegration of young individuals into full-time study and employment.
